Luka Arežina

Luka Arežina

Editor-in-chief

A degree in philosophy left Luka stranded and lost on the job market until an unpaid internship with a cybersecurity company opened his eyes to an exciting and scary new world. He has since held many jobs and filled various positions in publishing, but the problem of online privacy has stuck with him – both philosophically and practically. Luka has combined his prowess at making complicated topics accessible with his passion for data safety. The result is DataProt: a project that helps folks retain the basics of a fundamental human need – privacy.

Nemanja Stanojlović

Writer

Nemanja, a highly experienced and versed full-stack developer, understands how internet users interact with a website. One could argue there’s a lot of psychology involved in making a page approachable and useful, and a huge part of it that is making the visitor aware of the safety risks they partake in when they share their data. That’s Nemanja’s role at DataProt – providing deep and professional insights into how people interact with the internet.

A former social-media addict, Jovana was rocked out of her complacent habits when the Cambridge Analytica scandal hit the news. The cost of personal information dawned on her and her own practice of careless oversharing sent chills down her spine. Now she is committed to spreading the word about the value of anonymity and the importance of online privacy. Her psychology degree helps her understand her audience on a personal level and persuade even the most computer-illiterate that good cyberhygiene is not only necessary, but easy as well.

Bojan Jovanović

Bojan Jovanović

Writer

If there were a way to inject internet straight into one’s bloodstream, ones and zeros would course through Bojan’s veins. Bojan eats, lives, and breathes online both professionally as a cybersecurity reporter and privately as an avid gamer. Bojan learned the dangers of malicious online agents the hard way. He fell victim to a ransomware attack that corrupted years’ worth of research data. The jolting experience made him realize that even the most experienced individuals can fall prey to criminals, if they forgo the basic tenets of online safety. He joined the DataProt team to inform the uninformed and help them avoid the mistakes that cost him a whole lot of stress.

Nikola Budanović

Nikola Budanović

Writer

A classical literature graduate and prolific writer, Nikola contributes to publications on many topics. He finds pleasure in descending into unlikely rabbit holes as he explores different industries and technologies. Nikola tells us he sees links between the anarchic thinkers of the 19th century and today’s privacy advocates and blockchain innovators. You may find Nikola’s fascination with the dark web and the internet’s criminal underbelly disturbing, but you can’t argue with the rigor of his research or the attention he pays to detail.

A computer addict since the age of 6, Saša grew up and earned a degree in business IT with a specialization in graphic design. It was his experiences with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, however, that opened his eyes to the prevalence of cybercrime and the ever-evolving world of malware. Saša worked hard to devise technologies and practices to protect his systems and data, and he’s glad to share those techniques at DataProt. He wants to make the world a safer and better place by encouraging users to protect themselves online.
