With a user base of hundreds of millions, DocuSign is the digital signature market’s best-known brand. The company offers both free and paid versions of its eSignature program.
DocuSign eSignature is also part of the Agreement Cloud, a suite for 12 applications for analyzing, creating, and concluding business agreements in the digital age.
We chose DocuSign as the best service provider because the company’s eSignature app includes practically everything you might need.
Every action you take occurs within the eSignature online dashboard, which is accessible on desktop, laptop, and mobile devices. Once you are logged in, you create a document to be signed by using a template or marking up an existing document with tags that indicate places where you want the recipient to put in information: signature, company name, personal details, and so forth.
Unlike many entry-level digital signature applications, eSignature is not exclusively digital signature PDF software. It accepts practically all file types, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Of course, eSignature works with PDFs as well. It can even detect and tag fill-in fields automatically.
Once you’ve prepared the document, eSignature can email it for you. Just provide the email addresses of the intended recipients and click Send. Once signers receive the email, a hyperlink directs them to an identity-verification page and a page that helps them create an electronic signature.
eSignature notifies you of the status of your document at every stage: when the email is received, when the recipient visits the website, and when the document is signed. You can also set up reminders and alerts for yourself and the signer. One reason DocuSign reviews are so positive is that documents signed with eSignature are fully compliant with ESIGN, UETA, and eIDAS, and are therefore legally binding in most countries.
DocuSign employs advanced security measures and observes strict privacy standards to protect your data. Document signing is available in 43 languages, and you can send documents in 13 of them. You can use collected data and previous documents to make new agreements efficiently – that’s a big time-saver. Additionally, eSignature integrates with more than 350 widely used business programs, including CRM systems and HR apps.
DocuSign software for electronic signing is one of the 12 programs included in the DocuSign Agreement Cloud, a suite of tools for streamlining the creation, dissemination, and signing process for business documents. The multitude of features and capabilities this platform provides regularly puts it on the first spot in many top lists.
The DocuSign free plan lets you create an electronic signature and sign an unlimited number of documents. It doesn’t let you create documents or distribute them to signers, however. For that, you need to subscribe to one of the paid plans.
eSignature service plans come in four versions: Personal, Standard, Business Pro, and Advanced Solutions.
The $10 per month Personal plan is for a single user. It lets you create an unlimited number of documents. You can embed fields for users to fill in information and of course, the documents can be digitally signed. Access to the handy eSignature mobile app is also included. The $10 version of eSignature doesn’t email agreements to signers, however. That capability will cost you an extra $5 per month.
The Standard signature software plan will set you back $25 per user each month. It allows you to create and send an unlimited number of documents for signing. It also lets you set up, personalize emails and documents with your company’s branding materials, and collect comments on documents.
The monthly charge for eSignature’s Business Pro edition costs $40 per user and it adds a selection of very useful features to the mix. eSignature Business Pro lets you collect payments through e-signatures, create smart data-collection forms, receive attachments that signers add to documents, and import a list of recipients and send unique forms to each one.
eSignature Advanced Solutions is an electronic signature software package appropriate for large enterprises. The features include API documentation so you can integrate digital signing into your company’s software. It also includes single sign-on for users, advanced identification and authentication features, document automation capabilities, and much more. If you think this is right for your company, contact DocuSign and the sales department will generate you a quote based on your company’s needs.
DocuSign eSignature delivers full-fledged digital signature services via well-structured plans for companies of all sizes. The number of useful features makes eSignature a strong contender in the battle to name the market’s best signature software.
